Do as I say, not as I do

Wasn’t this the same guy that while working for Chafee’s campaign (rightly) critizised the Shilling EDC deal?  Gosh, he warns us about a bad EDC deal that could cost the taxpayers money – well, he should know.  It appears he made a bad deal with the EDC and stuck the taxpayers with a quarter million dollar debt.

Most interesting though is this:

Trainor and his partners had already bought a company, based in Stonington (CT), that distributed and installed hurricane shutters. The EDC money was intended to give that business a needed infusion of “operating capital,” Trainor said.

Next, they planned to buy three southern companies that made the shutters. The new business was to be called Genesis Distribution and Marketing Inc.

So, let me see if I have this right.  He got a loan from the RHODE ISLAND EDC – to help a company in Connecticut buy shudders made in a southern state.  Sounds like a good deal for RI doesn’t it.  thanks EDC
